Isabel & Jamie - A Blake Hall Wedding Video

My first wedding back from a year out with the COVID lockdown restrictions. So many of my couples were forced to move their wedding days once, often twice to a different date. On this occasion Isabel and Jamie committed to the new date despite lower numbers of guests. Jamie is a good friend of mine and asked me to film his wedding well over a year ago. I am so glad I could help him out with the day and capture what turned out to be a stunning wedding.

For me smaller weddings still have a magic about them, the bride and groom are often more relaxed, they are able to spend more time with the guests and have more freedom soak up the day. This was a perfect example of that. Isabel started the morning in the bridal suite with her close family. This day had a few traditional Chinese wedding elements so Isabel dressed in traditional clothing for parts of the day and in her wedding dress for the ceremony and celebrations.

Jamie arrived with his two groomsmen and walked the grounds doing some final checks and making sure everything was set out as it should be. A great touch for the guest that could not attend the wedding day was the live streaming iPhone the groomsmen took turns using to film the day as it unfolded.

The wedding was held at the beautiful Essex wedding venue Blake Hall. This venue is steeped in history and has stunning grounds that create a cinematic backdrop for the couple. My favourite part of the day was taking Isabel and Jamie around Blake Hall's gardens and grounds to capture some amazing slow motion clips for the trailer and full length wedding video. At times we had a little rain in the air but never too much to stop us from enjoying the day.

A highlight for me was filming Jamie as he took part in the traditional 'door knocking' games. A chance for Jamie to prove his worth to Isabel before she would accept him. Isabel's family made Jamie do all sorts of crazy things to show he was up for the task!

The ceremony itself in the main barn of Blake Hall was perfect, beautifully decorated and a soundtrack of violins and cello for the guests to enjoy. After Isabel and Jamie became married the celebrations began and the day unfolded in all its charm.
