Southend-on-Sea School Promotional Video
Shoeburyness High School Promo Video
As a leading video production agency based in Southend-on-Sea, it is always great to produce promotional videos for your local community. 3 Cheers Media have been working alongside Southend schools for over 15 years; filming school production videos, special event videos, teacher interviews and school promotional videos like this one for Shoeburyness High School:
The School Promotional Video Process
After initially being contacted by Shoeburyness High School to discuss the possibility of a school promo video, I set out a plan and a budget for filming based on their requirements. One of the first things I like to do is find out what makes a school special, what areas they are most proud of and how they want the school to be portrayed. We also discuss the different styles of a school promotional video; will it have interviews from teachers and students, will it have on screen captions highlighting features of the school, what tempo of music would work best and how long the video will last.
After this has been pinned down I can determine a schedule which ultimately results in a final cost for the school. I try my best knowing schools have tight budgets to minimise the days needed for filming and push as much out of a day capturing as a variety of shots to work with in the edit. This particular video needed 1 day of filming and 2 days of editing time.
The day of filming was scheduled before hand by myself and the school to tightly pack in a walk around of the school visiting particular lessons to film the wide variety the Southend High School has to offer. From science lessons to PE, art to drama, maths to english and the vast areas of the schools buildings and rooms that show how modern and high tech the school is.
The edit process starts with logging the school’s footage to find the best shots and to start to work out an order based on the soundtrack and on screen captions. After day one of editing a rough draft is produced for Shoeburyness team to take a look at and make final changes.
The last day of the edit process is to make all final changes needed and then to colour grade the footage and mix the audio. Once this is complete a final cut is produced for the schools approval.
The Results
Shoeburyness High School are delighted with their final promotional video. The feedback from the school has been great. This project was also delivered on time and on budget for the school, allowing them to send it out via the schools website and social media for the community to watch. We hope to work with Shoeburyness School in the future and welcome any other local schools looking for a promotional video.
